CARSWELL, WV

A coal camp adjacent to Kimball, WV which was built in 1915 by Houston Collieries Company. From 1935 until 1947 the operator was Koppers Coal Co., and finally Eastern Fuel & Gas Associates, who closed the Carswell mines in 1953.
