FORBES ROAD, PA

Jamison Coal & Coke Co. opened their No. 3 mine into the Greensburg Basin of the Pittsburgh seam in 1900 and operated for over 50 years. This facility originally included hundreds of beehive coke ovens. To house the workers and their families, the coal company constructed the town of Forbes Road.
