EDNA NO. 2, PA

Edna No. 2 was a "patch town" and coal mine in the Irwin Coal Field opened by Pittsburg (sic) and Baltimore Coal Company around 1902 as a sister mining town to nearby Edna No. 1. In the late 1910s, Hillman Coal and Coke Co., through their subsidiary United Coal Co., assumed the operations at Edna No. 2. Hillman closed the Edna No. 2 mine in 1938.
